This policy sets out how Charlie Clarey Consulting handles complaints about the way personal data is collected, used, stored or shared. It applies to complaints made by any individual whose personal data we process.
We are committed to handling all complaints promptly, fairly and confidentially.
If you have a concern about how your personal data has been handled, please contact us using one of the following methods:

Please include your name, contact details, a description of your concern and any relevant dates or reference numbers where possible.
We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 days of receiving it.
The Data Compliance Officer (Charlie Clarey) will be responsible for investigating your complaint promptly and thoroughly. We will keep you informed throughout the process and may contact you for further information if needed.
We will provide you with a written response explaining the outcome of our investigation without undue delay. Where we uphold your complaint, we will tell you what steps we are taking to put things right.
If your complaint includes both a data privacy concern and a separate concern about goods or services, we will deal with these separately. The data privacy element will be handled in accordance with this policy, and any other aspect will be dealt with under our general complaints procedure.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s independent body for data protection matters. The ICO will generally expect you to have raised your complaint with us first.

All staff and contractors working with Charlie Clarey Consulting are made aware of this policy and their responsibilities in relation to data privacy complaints. Any complaint received must be passed to the Data Compliance Officer immediately.
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if there are changes in relevant legislation or guidance.
